The Wanderer

U2 did a song called The Wanderer with Johnny Cash on vocals back in 1993. It was a bit incongruous because this song was on Zooropa, widely considered U2's most avant-garde album. Here at the end of this album of futuristic rock is Johnny Cash singing in that thunderous voice of his. But it worked, the song is a hidden gem. Fast-forward to last week, U2 performed The Wanderer as part of a tribute to Cash that was aired on American television. The rendition they did was probably their best TV performance ever.
